Hi Support Team,
I own a copy of Aperture 3.0 (on disk); I bought the software back in 2010 when it was first released and have been running the software on my MacBook Pro (2009 model).
Now, I have bought the new MacBook Pro Retina and installed Mountain Lion.
Question:
Do I have to purchase the latest version of Aperture to work on the new MacBook?
Or can I load Aperture 3.0 using my original disk and hope that I can update the software to the latest version (3.3.2)?
Thanks,
Steve
Download Apple TV Software Update 3.0.2 Update appears to address compatibility with other recently updated Apple programs Feb 11, 2010 09:03 GMT By Filip Truta Comment.
You should be able to install with the DVD and then download the AP 3.3.2 installer from here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1561?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
You may or may not need to go the 'System Preferences > Security & Privacy' and select 'Anywhere' in the 'Allow applications downloaded from:' section. I am not sure whether or not the DVD will get flagged as it may or may not be a signed installer.
Suggest running the AP 3.3.2 update and then 'Repair Permissions' via Disk Utility prior to launching Aperture for the first time.

Have CS 5 Installed on my iMac and works ok. But installed on my new MacBook Pro it won't open NEF files from my Nikon D810. Displays NEF icons, but when I try and open them the response is: Make sure latest RAW updates are installed. If problem persists follow link: http://www.adobe.com/go/kb407111. Have installed Bridge 5.0.2.4; Raw Ref Version 7.0.0.308; DNG converter_8_7_1.dmg; Bridge 5.0.2 Update 2. Also same problem with Lightroom which I don't normally use. Lightroom_3_LS11_mac_3_6.dmg installed.
In the link you posted it states that the Nikon 810 requires ACR 8.6 or newer.
Version of ACR are specific to versions of Photoshop. You cannot use 8.6 nor even 7.0.in CS5.
I believe that ACR 6.7 is the latest that will work with CS5, so make sure you have this installed and get rid of ACR 7.
Having 2 versions of ACR will cause problems.
You have already downloaded DNG Converter 8.7.1.
Have you double clicked the DMG file to allow you to install DNG Converter on your computer?
Be aware that DNG converter is a stand-along application and not a plug-in.
You need to open DNG converter at select the FOLDER that contain your .NEF files.
Don't open the folder and try to select individual files, it doesn't work that way.
After converting your D810 files to DNGs you can then open the DNGs in CS5
The problem is your camera didn't exist when CS5 & its version of ACR was developed.
i don't use Lightroom, but the list mentions Lightroom 5.6 as needed to open D819 so your 3.6 version of LR won't cut it.I copied itunes from old pc onto new macbook pro and now itunes recognises iphone but I have to sync entire library and lose all apps etc. The sync playlists etc is greyed out. what can I do?

Can Windows 7 be installed on my new MacBook Pro, through my network connection? The disc would be in my Windows desktop.
I wouldn't recommend installing through a network connection.
For a Virtual Machine:
If you have the Win 7 media (DVD), use an app like PowerISO or MagicISO to make an ISO file of the install disc and use that.
For BootCamp:
Use the original install media and BootCamp Assistant, to install from your DVD Drive. My old Mac Pro has kicked the bucket so I have purchased a new MacBook Pro with no CD/DVD drive. My past purchases of Aperture were in the form of Aperture 2 and the upgrade to Aperture 3, both in box form. The only place that I can find a download of an installation copy of Apeture is at the App Store but then I'd have to repurchase it.
I called Apple but the support people just sent me a form to fax proof of purchase for a serial replacement. I'm not sure that's what I need.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JulianneJulianne, the last Aperture 3 installer (the Trial installer) is no longer available for download, sorry.
You need to find a way to read your installer CD/DVD. Can anybody, who owns a Mac with a CD/DVD drive help you to burn a disk image of your Aperture 3 installer DVD to a thumbs drive? Or could you borrow an external DC/DVD drive? Then you could run the Aperture installer from that disk image and immediately upgrade to Aperture 3.4.5 by downloading the 3.4.5 upgrade from Apple's support page.
See: Aperture 3.4.5
Then launch the updated version and enter your serial numbers for Aperture 2 und 3.
After that, you should be able to update to Aperture 3.5 from the App Store.
If you cannot copy your installer CD/DVD to a thumbsdrive, try to restore Aperture from your backup. How did you migrate the data from your old mac? Did you run Migration Assistant, using a Time Machine backup?
To restore Aperture from your backup, copy the Aperture application to your Applications folder. Also you need to migrate the folders
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/ from your old Macintosh HD and
~//Library/Application Support/Aperture/ from your Home folder.
But running the installer would be much preferable.
-- LéonieIs there some way to transfer everything on a Leopard iBook onto a new MacBook Pro in one quick operation? I heard about a feature which does this through a firewire connection but didn't catch the nomenclature, so my searches have been fruitless so far. Would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
Hi! You can use the migration assistant.
Using Migration Assistant to transfer files
If you need to transfer all your files and important settings from an older Mac to a new one, and both computers are using Mac OS X, you can use Migration Assistant.
Before using Migration Assistant, make sure that both computers have Mac OS X installed and that you have a FireWire cable to connect the two computers.
To transfer files using Migration Assistant:
From the Finder on your new computer, open Migration Assistant, located in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder.
Follow the onscreen instructions to connect a FireWire cable and choose the files you want to transfer.
Applications sometimes fail to work properly using the migration assistant and have to be re-installed.

Hey,
I'm having the same problem. Kind of.
I've got either 4th/5th gen ipod. I had the software up-to-date. Now, iTunes 7.0 won't recognize my ipod, and funny enough, the OS won't either (it's as if it does not exist). So, I tried re-installing my old ipod software, and I got the same error message. So, at the moment, I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. My 20 gig ipod isn't being recognized, and I can't reinstall my old software, nor it seems iTunes 6.0, which worked just fine thank you very much!!
Any help so that I can sync my iPod with my iTunes, as well as be able to view it on the desktop would be appreciated (for the record, when I plug it in, it does pop up the symbol not to disconnect, so the computer is 'kind-of' recognizing it.Hey guy's, I got my first Mac today. What's the best option?wow thanks for the very fast reply! I'll stick with it then and see how it goes. I love the thing though. It's very sexy!! Bit peed that they bumped the 7200rpm drive up to 200GB today but never mind, not fussed by the CPU as it'll only use the battery more and this thing is fast enough!
Will the upgrade convert all the OS into the full 64bit?I brought an app recently from the app store called 'pages'. I am trying to install this app onto my MacBook Pro but whenever i try and install it, it comes up as 'An error as occurred' How do i fix this?
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Select: Mac App Store and identified developers
If that area is greyed out, click the padlock icon to make changes. You may be prompted for your admin password.
Then try installing Pages.I just got a new MacBook Pro and after setting it up, transferring no files, I decide that I actually would have liked to restore Leopard from my Time Machine back up. I try to do this via the Migration Assistant, but it's not working properly and it's taking up way more space on my HD than it should.
So I decide to try and reinstall Leopard and start over. Only I can't. When I insert the Leopard installation DVD and double click on 'Install Leopard', it restarts, but it's just stuck on a grey screen. If I hold down alt while booting I'm asked to choice between my Macintosh HD and the installation DVD, but when I choose the DVD, it starts spinning, but stops after a while and the computer is frozen. I can't delete what's on my HD from Disk Utility either.
How do I get rid of what's on my HD and get a chance to install a fresh Leopard?
This is driving me crazy, hope you can help me!
ThanksThanks a lot both. The thing was that I couldn't find any DVDs that belonged to my new computer, so I just used my old Leopard DVD thinking that it didn't matter which one I used anyway. When you said it did
matter, however, I looked a little closer and found two DVDs in my new computer's box. I'm doing a clean installation as we speak.
Thank you for your help!Hi
I got myself a new macbook pro set it up and all great ibooks came up right away but my sister in law got the same macbook pro as i but i cannot get ibooks onto it, i have been to the app store but its not there i really cannot remember howi got mine onto my macbook, i think its when i set my macbook pro it asks you questions and then to setup your apple id in the set up process, well we had difficulty in trying to sign her in as it would not accept the password, even tho i have gone into iTunes and signed her in ok but not in set up, so we skipped that, so now we cannot put her iPad onto the iTunes on macbook either, is that why we cannot load the ibooks app onto the macbook because we cannot get her iPad hooked to iTunes,?
gosh hope you can understand me again lol
I have just asked a question about the set up so sorry i am repeating my self but this one was about the ibooks.
Hope you can help.
many thanks
Tracey xxHello Traceykate,
iBooks for Mac is part of the OS X Mavericks. Check to see what version of OS X you and your sister are running. If you one of them is not updated, then go to the Mac App Store and download OS X Mavericks and you should be able to have iBooks. Check out the articles below for more information about iBooks for Mac, how to check what version of OS X you are running and a link to download Mavericks.
